Le Blue v Courtside 'B'

It was a perfect day for tennis and the perfect day to extract our revenge on the Lemon Heads after losing to them twice last senior season (but who is counting?). Le Bleu took charge today and systematically dismantled the opposition court by court.

In the 1 Spot - Rodney and Diane -(the DoRag Dynamic Duo) were following the Survivor code on their head wraps - Outwit, Outlast, Outplay . That was some really great tennis. They played Lynn Borsum and Tunc Doluca and that was a TOUGH team. Lots of great points!!! It went to three full sets after losing the first set 4/6 they came back and took the second two 4 and 2. You will not be voted of our island - that's for sure.

On Court 2 - truth be told, Shannon was having back issues (not as serious as our sweet Annie) but she was not 100% on the court today. After some muscle relaxers and some serious competitive determination, along with the support of her big guy partner Rich, they pushed out a win 7/6 6/4 against Peter and Ramona Rule (a 4.0/3.0) combo. Rock Solid Tennis guys!

Now Charles and Julia played some impressive tennis on 3. Frazer Street and Mai Tran just kept the pressure on, but with some great serves from Charles and great hands from Julia our two brought it home 3 and 4.

Now cheerleaders and supporters were not in short supply, Ray, Bea, Janie, Bob, Craig, Neil, and Dean with wine in hand. It was quite a turnout as only Le Bleu would do. Such a large turnout that Mike had to run get emergency wine/beer and snacks for the troops. Our opposition was clearly not ready for that many supporters. So we are off to a great start and not to get ahead of ourselves but -----we are in FIRST PLACE right now. We like the look of that. Let's see what we can do to stay on top with a really tough season ahead. Clearly, with the out of control bantering that happed with a little encouragement from Neil (who threw out the first grenade), it is obvious that this team has the spirit to move to the top. (No more jokes about being on top please :-)). And, more importantly, I think we have the game. So, let's stick to our Le Courtn' Bleu Survivor code and Outwit, Outlast, Outplay, Outparty and Outhost (not outhouse) our opponents this season. It's quite a package but it can be done.
